We were in Aswan two nights but they were separated by one night in Abu Simbel.  In Aswan we stayed on Elephantine Island in the Moevenpick Hotel.  I've included a few views from our room.

The Nubian Village tour was a bit of a disappointment.  It turned out to be a number of homes which have been turned into tourist stops and a small market area with the usual array of "no hassle" shops.  In spite of all that, it provided a number of "photo ops" and a few purchase opportunities.
