One morning we had a treat.  Helene arranged for us to visit the Tessitura Bevilacqua silk weavers.  Most of the company's production is now done by machine at a plant on the mainland.  However, the old plant is still working and still produces some fine silk, jacquard fabrics.  When you look at the pictures below you will realize why the handmade fabrics are so limited and EXPENSIVE!
