Our hotel is located across the street from the Louvre.  When we look out our window, there it is!   But that's not the only sight seen from our window.  We also have a nie view of the Eiffel tower and also the park where the have the ferris wheel setup.  Below are a couple of pictures taken from our balcony.

Nothing was scheduled for Wednesday morning.  A tour of the Louvre was scheduled for the afternoon but what to do in the morning?

We decided to go to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.  Very convenient.  Directly across the street with its entrance about one block from us.  We should have checked before hand because we started to walk in about 10:15 and were told the museum doesn't open until 11.  However, no worry - the museum shop was open.  We browsed around the shop for most of the 45 minute wait.  The museum was interesting but I have no pictures.  Guess we'll have to wait until we see the Louvre.

Granny had made arrangements for a guided tour of the Louvre for this afternoon  The guide was reserved through "Tours By Locals".  Our guide for this tour was Veronica Steverlynck, an Argentinian that has been living in Paris for many years.
With very little persuasion, I decided to use a wheel chair for this excursion.  Granny walked while I was pushed by Veronica.  This had many advantages not least of which was that we got to the head of the lines and in front of all the crowds at the popular spots.

The change in the Louvre since we were here last in 1958 is mind boggling.  It's like a totally different place.  Also, the crowds are mind boggling.  I don't recall seeing crowds of this magnitude at any museum we've ever visited.  In spite of the crowds, we saw some amazing works of art.  Some of these are shown below.

There were mobs of people everywhere.  Veronica pushed me in the wheelchair and cut through the crowds as if noone was there.  Below is a picture of Granny and Veronica.
It's Wednesday night so our dinner was at Josephine - Chez Dumonet.  Starting above and working clockwise, the meal started with a VERY good appetizer of morel mushrooms stuffed with foie gras.  This was followed by a tomato bisque that we didn't expect but was quite good.  Granny opted for sweetbreads thinking it was veal.  I went for the duck confit which had been highly recommended.  Granny's was quite good but I was disappointed with mine.  It was dry and stringy and not  as good as I had hoped.  However, we finished with a wonderful Grand Marnier souffle.
